Robert Stojakovich
Robert Stojakovich has been a music teacher in Anne Arundel County for the past 33 years. He has taught at Southern Senior, Southern Middle, South River Senior, Edgewater Elementary, Bates Middle, Chesapeake Senior and Magothy River Middle School where he is currently the instrumental music director. Under his direction the Bands and Orchestras have continued a pursuit of excellence in competition and festivals at the county, state and national levels. At the age of 20 Mr. Stojakovich received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has done graduate work at the University of Maryland and West Chester University.
Rob has served as Spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Band Directors Association at both the senior and middle level. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Anne Arundel Community College for the T3 project. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Annapolis Opera Company as the Education Liaison. He founded the South County Youth Orchestra (no longer in existence). He has directed at the Arlington Echo summer music camp program. And has been an adjudicator and guest conductor at several Maryland and Virginia County School systems. In 2017, Mr Stojakovich was a Teacher of the year semi-finalist for AACPS. As a performer, he is highly sought in many genres of music, as a classically trained trombonist and pianist.
